The Black Dog Institute is an educational, research, clinical and community-oriented facility offering specialist expertise in mood disorders (depression and bipolar). Mood disorders will affect approximately 1 in 5 Australians. Those affected do not need to suffer in silence. Depression and bipolar disorder can be managed. The Institute's goal is to advance the understanding, diagnosis and management of mood disorders by continuously raising clinical, research, education and training standards.

Donations are vital for the Black Dog Institute to continue helping so many Australians.

While we receive some government funding, we rely heavily on generous donations from individuals, businesses and community fundraising events like Yoga Aid. Funds raised from the Yoga Aid project will be used to complete a Randomised Controlled Trial of a Wellbeing Group Program to assist group members in the development and implementation of a comprehensive Wellbeing Plan, which involves identifying triggers and warning signs of episodes and developing immediate and long-term wellbeing strategies to help better manage episodes and the particpants mood disorder in the future.

The mission of the NELUNE Foundation is to help ease the burden of cancer patients who may not have the support or financial resources that are needed to cope with this life threatening illness.

The Foundation currently funds a team of Clinical Psychologists attached to the Oncology Department who provide a holistic approach to support cancer patients, their families and carers. 100% of all funds raised are distributed directly to cancer patient care and, to date, many hundreds of patients have benefited from the NELUNE Foundation

Nearly 100 children a day – every day of the year – are abused or neglected in Australia. There is a desperate need to help these children and this is what we do. At Barnardos, we provide services to help children at risk of, or suffering the effects of, abuse and neglect. We work with these children and young people to overcome disadvantage, abuse, neglect, shame and fear. We work so that children and young people are nurtured not neglected. The funding we receive to do this crucial work is made up of government support together with funds from corporate partners, community fundraising groups and individuals. It is because of organisations like Yoga Aid that we continue to provide the vital help that so many young people in this nation so desperately need.
