Fundraising Tools
Thank you for fundraising for Yoga Aid World Challenge
...and helping us reach our $1 million goal!
Top Ways to Fundraise
#1 Set Up Your Personal Fundraising Webpage
- You’ve registered and activated your fundraising page. GREAT! Now you might be wondering, “What do I do now?”
- Next thing to do is update your photo. This is optional, but it definitely makes it more personal for you and more fun for your donors! In the right-hand margin, you’ll see the link to “Edit Your Profile Image”. Note: You can also customize the fundraising message by clicking the “Edit Fundraiser Details” link and change your goal by clicking “Edit Information”. For further detail on your Fundraising Page, please refer to the “How to Set Up Your Fundraising Page” document.
- Once you’ve activated your fundraising page and updated your photo, send a donation request email to family, coworkers, fellow yogis....anyone and everyone you know that could make a donation! Send as many emails as you can to raise donations for your chosen charity. Not sure how how to write a donation request email? Check out our sample donation request templates.
#2 Print and Use These Fundraising Tools - COMING SOON!

- Business Cards - These handy cards print 4 per sheet! Print a bunch and give them to everyone you know! The even make great greeting card and mailbox “stuffers”! (Coming soon)
#3 Tap Your Social Network
- Utilize social media channels (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Pinterest, etc) to advertise your participation in the event and encourage others to support you with a donation. Refer to our Social Media Guide for fun and exciting messages you can post on your Facebook page and tweet!
#4 Give your donors some love!
- If someone donates to you, don’t forget to show your appreciation! You can say ‘thank you’ by logging in to your fundraising page, and clicking ‘comment’ under their donation. The more your donors know you appreciate them, the more they will donate! After you’ve commented why not give them a Facebook shout out too, to tell the world how great they are.
How to Ask
The number one reason why people give is simply because they were asked. Thus, the Golden Rule of Fundraising is just as simple: You raise money when you ask for it. So ask everyone you know.
ASK personally
- Connect with your donors through your personal relationship with them.
- ASK everyone
- And we mean everyone! Your neighbors, doctor, barista, grocery store clerk, colleagues, clients, hair dresser – everyone you see or contact.
- ASK big
- If you ask someone for $10, you won’t get more than $10. But if you ask someone for $100, you might get $100. You might get less than what you ask for, but you are unlikely to get more.
- ASK confidently
- You are not asking for money for yourself; 100% of the funds will support local charities.
Still not sure how to ask? Check out these Sample Fundraising Messages which you can simply cut, paste and send!
