Welcome to the Bali Spirit Yoga Mala

A joint event hosted by Yoga Aid in partnership with Global Mala (USA) and Yogathon (Canada) to celebrate the Bali Spirit Festival.

Three years ago Shiva Rea created the Global Mala project.

The mission of the Global Mala Project is to unite the worldwide yoga community to form a “mala around the earth” through collective practices relating to the transformative cycle of 108 to raise funds and awareness for organizations serving the planet.

In the summer of 2001 Eoin Finn co-founded Yogathon where the Vancouver Yoga Community came together to practice 108 sun salutations led by a community of 12 Vancouver yoga teachers.

Yoga Aid was created to provide a platform for the yoga community to share their love of giving. So far, Yoga Aid have hosted over 90 Yoga Aid Challenge events around the world raising over $700,000 for charities in 12 countries around the world.

For the Bali Spirit festival, we are uniting these three projects under the banner of the Bali Spirit Yoga Mala.

Welcome to the global giving community.

The Bali Spirit Yoga Mala is a way to give back to the world what yoga gives to us.

A 2 hour Yoga Challenge with 12 of the world's leading Yoga teachers jointly hosted by the founders of Global Mala, Yogathon and Yoga Aid.

Yes, the 2 hour Yoga practise is a big challenge.

But what makes this practice special? We use it to show the world what yogis can do for others.

The event itself is free, but registering online creates your very own charity fundraising page. You send your link to friends and family, and they ‘sponsor’ you in support of the practice.

All this money goes straight to our charity partners.

What is online fundraising?

We ask each participant to raise funds through sponsorship of the Challenge by registering with one of our online fund-raising partners.

The online fund-raising is a proven, simple way of raising money online which is fully secure and provides receipts for donors worldwide.
